Transmission Issues

glad its fixed ,take care brother

wellllllll, not so fast, just got a call from the shop regarding the truck not being able to start. long story short is there's an issue with the prndl harness that connects to the tranny and that on this particular truck the plug is filled with glue. so when the tech takes the tranny out they have to heat the plug to melt the gue so they can disconnect the harness. they said in some cases the harness doesn't always work properly when reinstalled and this can lead to intermittent starting issues as they have with my truck right now. apparently the cost for this harness is like $450 from gm, which seems out of line. has anybody heard of this issue before? are there any alternative solutions besides the factory plug?

yes they are a bitch ,you can replace the PRNDL switch and ask a GM parts guy if a pigtail (connector) can be bought for the harness end instead of the whole harness

orrrrrr

try getting a junkyard pigtail out with a bit of heat and finess !!!! and tie it into your trucks harness

ive never seen issues as you describe ,,,,you can look under and see WITH A LIGHT if its fully connected ,,,,you can clean off the outside of the connector and try again ,,,

i hope ya get what i mean

good luck
