Hello to all ! I picked up a new 2013 silverado Z71 LTZ on Tuesday my first Chevy . all I have to say is wow! I have never had anything this fancy. Been a ford driver all my life, but this body style they have now is ugly.

Been looking around the forum for a week or so, found answers to all my questions, there is a big difference between ford and Chevy, culture shock haha. I'm having to get used to the 6 speed tranny , it is really different. It has the 5.3 afm, I hope I didn't make a mistake there seems to be a problem with oil usage. Hope y'all can ease my mind. If I had read the problems the afm is having, might have gone back to ford.

So far been a awesome truck only have 400 miles, but very impressive!

Will spend lots of time on here, got lots to learn. Chuck from Kansas

Welcome. My truck has 75,000+ miles on it and I haven't had an issues with the AFM, its an 07.

Hi all just an update. I got 3350 miles on the truck now. Runs awesome and overall very pleased. Within the last week has developed what I call a lifter tick, never goes away. Can't hear it while driving , but it's there when I get out to listen. And that's when cold or operating temps. From what I've read here doesn't sound very promising , ill be taking it in soon. Let y'all know the verdict when I find out.

an update on Silverado, got 6600 miles. still awesome! the ticking noise turned out to be a fuel injector, whew! the fuel milage is very good, 19 to 20 mpg on every tank so far. no oil consumption. very pleased!
