I know now what my 6.2 will run in the 1/4 mile!

Took it out tonight and ran a 14.385 @ 96.55 mph. 2.179 60' but spinning a little but not much. Probably could have clocked off a 14.30 maybe had I gotten another pass and held traction. Just got crowded too soon to run again.

It's stock with the exception of removing the spare tire. I figured that was 69# that I could do without for the night.

Turned it off, did my burnout, staged, torqued up to around 1000-1200 rpm and hit it. Apparently did not get the tires hot enough or the tires just won't hold.

Probably need a few runs to dial in your rpm, 2WD vs 4WD etc. I remember back in '86 picking up a couple of tenths in my brother's Grand National by pulling the headlights out in front of the air intake.Seems like the little things can make a big difference.

How do you dial in your rpm with the stock tune? It's a 2WD 2013 extended cab Silverado.

Interesting taking the head light out! Not sure I'm that serious with drag racing this truck unless it's an easy mod.

I meant dial in your rpm as far as what you launch at. As far as the headlight, our intake is through the fender and not behind the headlight. Besides, I just swapped out my headlights and trust me, it's not something I'd pull just for a number.

If you are interested in improving your quarter mile time, replace the stock torque converter with a 3600 2.5str stall, you already have a trans cooler, I would also change the stock flex plate with a SF29 race grade unit.

You would easily take off 1/2 a second from your run. A dyno tune would be needed to adjust the shift points and idle.

Almost too nice a truck to make any major modifications. a converter works great for acceleration but if too loose not so good for street. I really just wanted to see what the truck will do. Thanks guys!

Fold ur mirrors in, take headlight(s) out, as least fuel as possible and remove tail gate...they say you'll gain 1/10 every 100lbs you remove
