Brake setup: Work truck vs LTZ

Is there a significant difference between the front brake setup on an '08 work truck and an '08 CC LTZ?

I wouldn't think that they would make the work truck model different from the LTZ as far as brakes go. The reason I ask is that nobody has SS brake lines for an '08 except Russell. But there is a note that says they are only for the work truck model. I called Russell and they confirmed and said there are differences between the two and that they would not work with my truck.

hey mossyoakglock, I think the difference is that the WT you have has drum brakes in the rear as opposed to the higher end models like the LTZ having 4 wheel disc brakes. i don't think there is a difference on the front discs or calipers from your truck to mine regardless of model or later years.. I'm in the process of building my own stainless steel lines because i want to be able to have dash 3 fittings at the chassis and calipers. nobody i have checked with has the metric size 12x1.5 threaded adapter necessary to remove the factory hose and replace it with a stainless adapter fitting. at this point of my research it looks like i will have to cut off the metric nut on the truck and replace it with ase (american thread ) 7/16-24 and reflare the line. there are adapters with the 7/16-24 thread to dash 3 stainless steel lines. I plan to buy the hose with dash 3 size ends a certain length so that i will be able to remove and or replace them if necessary. just my want. i'm also considering replacing my calipers with corvette units but will have to make the adapter bracket to make the units work. while i don't have a braking problem, its just what i want to do to enhance my truck. check out a company called stainless steel brakes, they might have what you need as they specialize in brake kits for all trucks, don't know if you've looked them up yet, you can try summit racing which carries the russell line of parts as well as earls and several others. check out murrays speed and chrome, they may have something too. another option would be to go to your nearest hydraulic supply store and see what they have in stock and they might be able to suggest other options too. you will probably have to take the racers approach like me to build your own if it doesn't exist. good luck.

Actually my 07 LTZ has rear drums..

Mine has rear drums as well. All GMT-900 1500's have rear drums except for the trucks with the NHT package.

I should have specified that my question was geared towards the front brakes. Again, I wouldnt' think that the front discs, calipers, etc would be different between the two trims.

I dont have the NHT package and have rear discs. Any truck with the 6.0 or 6.2 has rear discs

Not true here. I have a VortecMax 6.0 and I have drums
