I have a 4wd gmc yukon transmission operating temp was at 227 I was traveling up hill at 90mph outdoor ambient temp was 95. Opetatin temp normally 150 to 190. I drive it like I stole it for certain work situations should I do a trans cooler in line w radiator cooler synthetic fluid recomendations

Larger pan, larger cooler, going uphill at that speed, the trans will get warm

A cooler certainly wouldn't hurt. I'd throw some Amsoil in there too - stuff handles high temps real good. Driving like that you should have Amsoil in everything front to back - Just IMHO.

Amsoil is horribly overpriced. Dextron VI is already synthetic. Impressed you got it that hot- were you towing? The hottest mine has ever gotten was like 210 with a trailer. Without it hasn't broken 200 and I'm a bit of a lead foot.

Maybe .. but I trust it alot more than anything GM puts in these things. If they can't get a balljoint to hit 40k miles without failure, then any fluid they put in, I want out!

Like I always say: It's your money.
