oversize tires cause hop at 45 mph???

I have a 02 Silverado z71 with Terra grappler 305/60r18 (33x12.5) on a 18x9.5 rim and since tires and wheels were new at about 42 to 47 mph I get a bounce or hop. My whole truck goes up and down? Is this a normal thing with a bigger heavier tire?

No not normal with larger tires. I'd have them rebalanced and checked for a out of round tire.

Shocks could also be an issue. Are they old?

Rebalance. Try balance beads. I swear by them for tires 33" an over...

Got my tires re-balanced. Still hops... shocks are original but don't leak and ride pretty good

Shocks aren't a bad idea coming up on 14 years old. Get the tires balanced on a machine with road force. You might have a bad tire or two.

What tire is it??? Do you have a spare?? If you do put it on the tire you think is the issue go for a ride...work the issue backwards. Start with finding which tire it is..

Get them road force balanced. You could have a bad belt on one of the tires or a bent rim.
