NNBS Cam Swap

*Any cam worth having will need new springs, the range just isn't sufficient for the stock springs.

*The crank pulley bolt is SAE, not metric. It's torqued to like 300 ft/lbs, it's difficult to break loose.

*The pulley comes off fairly easily with the large pulley puller from Autozone.

*Reinstalling the pulley - use a torch to heat the center hub until it just barely starts to glow, using leather gloves grab the pulley and quickly slide it on. Without heating it you will not get it back on.

*I've used the dowels before, but I've done it "just spin the cam and yank it out" even more often, never dropped a lifter.

*Springs are a PITA, just take your time and wear eye protection. Keep a magnetic pick-up tool handy, those keepers are likely to land in the most inaccessible place.

*Removing front accessories isn't that bad, you can take the entire powersteeing pump/ alternator bracket off instead of the individual items and just set it on the side out of the way.
