Post 1000!!

OK, now I'm finally at post # 1000, took me from Nov. '01 to now to get there (join date changed when I renamed my account to "BlueRado" ) .  I know I speak for about everyone here, but I want to thank the forum admins, moderators, and all the registered users for making this a GREAT place to hang out and share w/ other enthusiasts!  :thumb:  :thumb:

 

Sorry this post is so long!  As for an update, I also need to get pics uploaded (Jon, can I email some to you? ) .  I've been negligent there.  I took a few Pics in the first week after I got Blue, but they only turned out mediocre and had hoped to get better, but alas, the snow's flying now and I can't keep it clean in the driveway, let alone going anywhere!

 

At the 6k mi mark, I have to say, this is one great truck!  If anyone has noticed from some of my previous posts, I'm pretty happy with it, so far.  Of all the issues that plagued the '99 (AKA Green), I haven't, so far seen any of those cropping up in the '03.  

 

She's been back in once to replace both side-view mirrors and housing as they were real lose - dealer says there's no adjustment to tighten them.  So far the replacements have been fine, and don't appear to be losening up.  

 

It's hard to get a good read on the mileage comparison as it's winter, but so far my overall average is 15.5 mpg but that's w/ about 2/3 of it being highway, 1/3 local stop and go.  I can say, I haven't babied it on the highway either.  I have the 4.10:1 rearend also.  This Summer I'm expecting hwy mileage to be around 17 - 17.5 mpg, so only slight less than the '99 w/ the 3.73:1.  Don't know why quite, but it's embarassingly easy to break that back end lose even on dry pavement, and my Duelers are only worn about 50%.  Probably the combo non-locker and 4.10 rear end, I guess.    

 

Did the first change @ 600 miles w/ Pennzoil dino 5W-30, then changed to 5W-30 Mobil 1 at 3,600 (I wanted that cold weather protection on start-up that synth provides) .

 

The only real picky issue I have now is that the lower 1/3 of the front windshield is wavy - having a little astigmatism, I notice these things, but it's not even a bother really, so I'm OK with it.

 

Overall, my hat's off to the people @ Ft. Wayne Assembly - great job!!

I got no reason to suck up.    I just think it's good to give praise where it's due - if that's viewed as kissing a**, that's not my problem.
