Bug Deflector: Chrome or Smoke on White Diamond?

Hi,

 

I was thinking of changing my current bug deflector from smoke to chrome. Would this be too much chrome on the White Diamond with the chrome package? Don't want it to look "cheesy".

Got to have it! In our climate in Canada, there is way too much salt and sand on the roads in during the winter time. Front gets too many chips!

I put the smoke on my summit white and it looked terrible IMO... I took it off. Chrome is too cheesy, if anything get it painted to match the truck.

Chrome is cheesy. Paint to match or clear.

I own a '12 Sierra with the White Diamond color. I had 3m Paint protection film put on. Has been on for a year now and works great. You can faintly see it but looks 110% better than a bug deflector.

Did the same....seems to be holding up fine. Not wild about the look of the deflectors, but if you have to I would go with the painted to match.

Do this if you have to. Bug shields are ugly but if you have to have one, for the love of God, don't do chrome.

I agree shields are not attractive at all.. I live in south MS and even with all the bugs I hit, I just keep the hood clean. Had a stainless bugdeflector on my previous 99' - didn't look bad at all but man did it make a buncha noise!

I used to have a shield but removed it because it created noisy turbulent air around the windshield.
