I have flat pink 15" rims.

 

And I didn't meant to offend, it's just a comment on this type of wheel and the look that it provides. I just don't understand it, and I wish I did so that I can see why it's so popular.

I personally feel like chrome is out dated. That is why I bought black rims.

Couple things- the alternative/extreme sport crowd has helped usher in these black/gun metal style rims. The chrome thing is a complete form over function design that (to some people) screams "I don't use my truck for anything but driving around town getting looks" and a lot of people don't like that.

 

The black less flashy rims cater to the "all purpose" ready to get up the mountain and shred on my board while not caring if my truck gets dirty in the process but I still want it to have that custom look crowd

They have a point, I didn't want to try to keep up chrome rims on the dirt roads. So I got factory alloys and they hold up better than black wheels do.

 

My truck rules the parking lot when I go snowboarding. Nothing like tailgating on the mountain.
