Option 1: 285/65R18

Option 2: 305/55R20

Truck is a 2011 Silverado 1500, will have 4 inch BDS lift soon.

Wondering if 20 inch wheels will affect the fuel economy worse than 18's? Either way, the tire will be 33 inches. Well, the 285/65R18 is 32.6 inches. I want 295/65R18, but only Goodyear makes that size. Going with Toyo AT2's.

Thanks all!

go back to the SS site. You abandoned us.

But 305s would look good even with 18" wheels

They sure would, if Toyo made them!

I was thinking about going back to my first tire choice, the Goodyear Duratracs. They offer both sizes I like, 295/65R18, and 305/55R20. The problem is, I have been reading reports of how this tire only gets louder as it wears. I have also read quite a few reports about low mileage life, wearing out fast.

Do 20's ride rougher? I figured if there is less sidewall to the tire, there is less there to soak up vibration from the road.

I am basing my decision off of another Chevy I found on the internet. Sorry for linking to another forum if that is not allowed.

My truck is identical to that. Laser blue metallic, extended cab, Z71. I am even putting the same lift on. I like chrome though, so my wheels will be chrome, not black.

Was thinking that myself.

Believe it or not, I am having one heck of a time finding anyone in my area who can get Mickey Thompson tires. I have never run them before but I have heard from other guys that the quality is top notch.

Same here, there aren't any dealers even remotely close to me. They look great though, I hear they last forever as well.
