That's a really nice truck. That's the exact stance i'm looking for, how wide are your tires?

Thanks! 275/65R20

typically the bigger tires you get affects MPG at least slightly. Take in mind as well leveling kits and bigger wheels will degrade your towing ability somewhat. And your towing towards the limits as it is, so I would be careful.

You tow 8,000 lbs your truck can tow in the 9200-9500 range I beleive. Your tongue weight is probably close to 500-600lbs. After your tongue weight your only left with 700-1000lbs. Start including 4 people at 200lbs your at max without gear. Put gear into your trailer, and bags in trucks etc your probably over. So do a leveling kit and bigger wheels you might degrade yourself a few hundred pounds possibly.

The small change you are proposing will have a negligible effect. See my signature block for my changes.

Hey Dan, are your wheels the same backspacing as the factory 20's? Thinking using my factory all terrain wheels with Toyo's.

LTZ 4x4 with 2"RC leveling kit. Terra Grapplers 275/60/20 no problem and no difference in milage..stock ride maintained.

You'll have no issues with the ride. As a matter of fact you can get much bigger tires with just the level kit. I went with 295/55/20 and the RC level. In hindsight. I wish I went straight for the 305/55/20 because there is plenty of room on these new trucks.

Are you confident that these will work w/o rubbing? I was told that the 295/55/R20 was the maximum w/o rubbing on stock offset rims. I really want to do the 305/55R20 Not to Trail Grapplers but I do not want to do any cutting. Thoughts?

I currently have 18's but plan to go with Moto Metal 20" wheels with slightly reduced offset (+18) and 305/55R20's.

How do I check for rubbing? I mean wouldn't I have to go through full suspension travel at different steering angles? I can handle the steering angles but how do you check against suspension travel?

I don't know because they were already on the truck when I bought it. I can tell you the tires do not stick out beyond the fenders. Any reputable dealer will do a test fit for you before committing to spending the $$, at least that's what I have always done with Discount Tire. The dealer already had this truck fitted with Fuel wheels and Toyo A/T II's. I took it to Discount before buying, and they confirmed it was a first class setup. It rode and drove great, so I didn't mess with it.

Its not the easiest thing to do. Normally you'll notice it at full lock turning while reversing up an incline. You can see wear on the wheel wells typically or maybe you'll hear it a bit. I am using stock 20" wheels and I sure would like to use that sized nittos. At the moment I have the LT295/55R20 planned. I have to decide soon because my truck arrives on Monday!

Hey Swazimoto what did you end up doing?

I just got my Terra Grapplers LT305/55R20 on the 20x9 Moto Metals (+18 offset). Then I installed the 2" RC level. I put the new wheels/tires on right before the level to simulate some suspension travel after the level. At full lock there was light contact with the wheelwell liner at the back of the inside wheel. But after I installed the 2" level it is perfect. No rubbing at all, and I think even a large suspension input at full lock (rare I know) wouldn't rub. [see update below.] Full disclosure mine is a Sierra CC Z71 and I don't know if clearances are different between brands, models, or suspension packages.

I really liked those trail grapplers but finally decided on the terra grapplers because I'm on the pavement almost all the time.

UPDATE on tires rubbing with LT305/55R20. Actually they do rub a little bit in the same spot after the 2" RC level. I found some tricks to checking. First, put people in the car. Second have somebody hold the steering wheel at full lock (instead of letting go of the wheel). Third, drive forward a foot or so at full lock. Then check.

The spot where mine rubs should be easy to pull back with a zip tie or two, so I'm going to try that. Meantime the rub is very minor and only at full lock.

Just curious. I have a 2014 LTZ with 20s and I am looking to get a 2 inch level kit with duratrac 285/60/20 on stock wheels.

Can someone give me some advice or let me know if they have seen this set-up before?

Will I need to get wheel spacers?
What level kit do you recommend. I wanna try to keep the cost low, but don't want to be cheap as I love my truck.
Thanks again!

Am thinking of doing the exact same setup with the 305/55/R20 w/ 2" level. How has this been working for you since? Did the zip ties get you anywhere?

Yes. I used a binder clip and a zip tie on each side. The binder clip holds on to the wheel well liner from the bottom, and then the zip tie pulls on the binder clip. This moves the liner away and there's no rubbing on the liner anymore.

I have +18 offset wheels. I don't think 305s are a good idea on stock wheels.

I have a 2014 Silverado 4x4 with a dealer installed leveling kit, My dealer said 305 size tires will work but there would be rubbing on sharp turns. So I am thanking 285 or 295 (33 or 34) tires with 18" rims. Unless I install a body or 3 or 4 inch suspension lift.

jtenney, I am still deciding on the tire size for my 2014 Silverado 4X4 with a 2 inch level kit can you get a side photo of your truck showing what it look like with the 305's installed?
