AFM

Can anybody tell me if the AFM stays active in tow/haul mode? How about 3rd gear with the four speed auto? The vehicle is a 2007 Silverado with 5.3 4x4.

Yes, It stays active. You have to tune it out if you don't want it.

You are correct. Tow/Haul does not disable it. Dumbest thing I have ever seen, but that's another story.

Thanks guys. So I can continue to wheel around town in 3rd and the AFM won't be active? I ask this as I do not notice it. If I designed this transmission, I would have the AFM not functional when in tow/haul mode. That I think makes perfect sense. Yup dumbest thing ever!
