P0449 Error..quick help

Hey all, Got the famous p0449 evap solenoid error on my 2009. Trying to do a bit a research on which replacement to buy. I know the older years use a different style and GM recommends upgrading the the 09 style. But doing some reading I'm having a hard time trying to figure out which part # I want to use.

So far I've read 214-2082 or 214-2149. The 214-2149 doesn't use the filter like my current 09 solenoid, so if I went with this, I just leave it off, tie it out of the way or remove. Correct? Will my 09 work with that previous model solenoid? I know there is a big cost difference between the two. $25 vs $150+

Thanks!

The 214-2149 will work fine. You can either remove the remote filter and tube or just zip tie the tube out of the way. You will have to cut the other hard tube to remove your old solenoid, do it as close to the fitting as possible. Then use a 3" piece of 5/8" heater hose and two clamps to install your new solenoid. Make sure you're not overfilling your tank when you fill up with gas, stop pumping when the nozzle clicks off. Don't squeeze in any extra to round up to an even amount or anything, this is what contributes to the evap solenoid failures.
