Truck Order Placed---- Now the waiting game!!

Alright guys well the order is in and it should take 6-8 weeks(estimate). Here are the rough specs on the build.

Hey Enthusiast,

 

I am also looking at the 5.3 with the 3.37 rear axle (max trailer package) but it is not currently available anywhere? Did they give you any indication on when these trucks would start hitting the lots? I don't particularly want to go through the order process to try not to get beat up so bad on pricing but would rather wait till they have a few on the lots?

 

Seems crazy that we have to wait for this.

 

My 04 Z71 had the 3.73 as a standard?

Max tow was just allowed to be built online. Look in a month or 2 on the lots. There probably wont be many though

My truck order went in on Oct. 4th. I just found out yesterday, looks like it's not even scheduled to be built until the week of Nov. 18th!?! (that's going into the 7th week after ordering!) Probably won't see the truck 'til December at this rate . I was hoping to see it delivered by ~6 weeks like some of the guys have seen. Guess not!

What options did you order? I ordered nearly 2 weeks after you and I am slated for the 11th.

 

I don't think I've ordered anything "unique" compared to any other truck?! I'm not getting a 6.2L or max tow pkg or anything else that's been a late release item.

 

Here's pretty much what I've ordered:

 

- 1LT crew cab, 6.5' box, 4WD

- 5.3L, w/3.42's

- black ext., black cloth int.

- bucket seats (heated/power, etc.)

- "Silverado Special Edition Pkg" (includes remote start, rear view camera, 8" radio w/mylink, etc., trailering pkg, and 18" wheels)

- "Chrome Essentials Pkg" (6" step bars, exhaust tip, tow hooks)

- BOSE speaker upgrade

 

So yeah, I don't think it's anything over the top?! The only thing that MAY be affecting my order is that it's a Canadian truck order?? (but I don't see why that should matter? I figure as each new order comes in, they just go into the queue with the rest of them?)

 

Who knows though?! Maybe it was just bad timing because they had the seat recall and the AFM recall occur around the same time the order went in, so I don't know how that affects production when they issue recalls??

 

What sucks is there are a bunch of trucks sitting on the lot, but none of them are optioned how I wanted (they all had options I didn't care for, ie: adjustable pedals, sliding rear window, 3.08 gears, but DIDN'T have the things I absolutely wanted, ie: 3.42's, bucket seats). So I pretty much had to order a truck to get what I wanted. It saves a few bucks, but playing the waiting game sucks!

Was is white diamond? I see in another thread there is a supply delay on that color. Everything else on your build shouldnt caause a delay.

I ordered on October 24th and just received a build date of November 18th. I am hoping this mean I will get it prior to Christmas. The wait is absolutely killing me. I would have gladly taken one off the lot but I am taking advantage of my fathers GM employee discount which is substantially larger is you order.
