Just got confirmation from GM that my truck is 1/2 way through production and they provided a vin! I ordered 2 wks ago. At this rate, I may see it before the end of the month! Crew cab 4x4 LTZ fyi.

Woohooo..Truck says Shipped/En Route on the Chevy Tracking site....Let's see how much longer it takes to get to the dealer :)

Mine was shipped on Oct. 25th to Birmingham, Alabama. It did arrive in Birmingham on Nov. 4th. That was 10 days. Now, it is still in the rail yard in Birmingham waiting to get on a truck for the last 100 miles to my dealer. My patience is wearing VERY thin!

Chances are its in transit and the records aren't updated. Lets hope.

On your wheels...why doesn't the dealer just take a demo out of service and give those wheels? A lot cheaper than turning new tires into used ones unless those are the same tires that go on your rig anyway.

So obviously a VIN isn't provided until production begins? Man, you got lucky ... being built only 2 weeks after your order went in?!

 

I just got word today, I have a VIN!!! So that must mean my truck is SOMEWHERE in assembly! (...almost at 6 weeks since my order went in though). Oh well, at least the wheels are in motion finally!

 

Curious to see how long it takes for shipping now?!?!

The VIN seems to be available as soon as the order is broadcasted to be built. My order is sitting at status 3800 meaning it is built and is awaiting shipment. My targeted production week was the 18th the last time I was given a status update so they built it a week early (about 3 weeks from order date).

Yes Pete, I did take delivery on Nov. 7th. That was 7 weeks to the day that I order it (Sept. 19th). However, I ordered the 22" SEY wheel package and they have not come in yet. the dealer first told me they couldn't deliver the truck to me without the wheels and I would have to wait another 2 to 3 weeks until the wheels came in. After I pitched a fit, they loaned me some 22" chrome wheels from the parts department. The wheels are sh-- rigged...they have two different sets of lug nuts, one of more wheels have no sensors, and two of the tires have manufacturers date that is over two years old. As a result of the missing sensors, I have no air pressure readings on the DIC, however, I do have my truck and it has chrome wheels. No one has any idea when my wheels will arrive. This has been the biggest "goat rope" of the entire ordering process. So far, everything else works great on the truck. Good luck with your order, hope it arrives soon!

I have a 6.2 max trailer 4x4 salesman emailed me this morning and said the 6.2 engine is in constraint my truck is at code 1100 but only ordered a week ago. Jeff orlando

Woo-hoo!! Apparently the waiting game is almost over! I got a call late Friday (Dec. 6th) that my truck has arrived at the dealership!! :)

 

So, to put this back into perspective, that's 9 weeks to the day since being ordered (Oct. 4th). Truck was built between 5 - 6 weeks (~Nov. 14th?) and took about ~3 weeks or so to be shipped. And now, of course, I probably won't actually get my hands on it 'til Monday or maybe even Tuesday, due to the weekend, working, etc., etc.!! (typical!! :D) ..... oh well, at least it's (almost!) home safe.

 

Oh, and here's a real kicker! ..................my father-in-law ordered a truck on/around Oct. 24th (about 3 weeks after I ordered mine). His showed up this past Wednesday or Thursday!!! (1 or 2 days ahead of mine) ........................BUT, he ordered a double cab, not a crew cab, so it only had to travel a fraction of the distance door-to-door (probably shipped in less than 3 days, vs. over 3 weeks!).

 

So there ya go ............if you want a truck sooner, order a double cab! :D

CONGRATULATIONS Pete!!! I know it has been a long wait for you. I still remember vividly how good it felt to go down to the dealership and hang out with it all day while they PDId it and detailed it, basically removed the train dirt, etc. In a few days, it will be in your driveway and you will be a "whole man" again. Congratualtions once again, my friend.

Nice looking truck!......I ordered mine on Nov 4th and it arrived today Dec 19. Deep Ruby Metallic High Country......the owner of the dealership is still amazed that I got it, He pre-ordered one back at their summer meetings in Orlando and it still hasn't arrived....He also said that because I ordered a sunroof and the were told that they weren't shipping any with sunroofs that should have delayed it even more.....but I picked it up tonight Sunroof, rear power window and all..... :chevrolet:

      Folks, Have a great new 2026 WT  (std cab, 2.7/4WD) w/base 40/20/40 mech adj bench "fake buckets"  (with lower and upper center console) heavy vinyl seats.  Overall the seats are very comfortable and the vinyl is heavy and appears less likely to 'split out'. Am very tall (6'5")  + a bad back/osteporosis/former hyperparathyroidism so ease/range of movement is a bit restricted.  The truck rides a bit high and I use a nerf step bar w/my left foot to step in, then I put right foot/leg in, drag my butt in  & get seated.  Worked fine in my 2018 RAM quadCab. But I end up dragging my butt over the left raised sidecushsion area of vinyl seat, and due to texture there's fair amount of traction on slide inward.  (ArmorAll didn't improve.) If the seat were even ~1/2" - 3/4" lower it'd be helpful, but base seats just have the forward/backward underseat bail and the side lever for tilt which really doesn't affect seat height.   I really don't want to 'de-puff' the left side sidecushion forming the  fake 'bucket'. I know one company sells 'seat elevator blocks':  but is there a simple way of lowering the height of the driver seat instead?   Thanks Bill W San Jose

      I have a basic 2026 1500 WT  (2.7L/4WD reg cab shorttbed). Comfy, generally happy with electronics/radio - but is there a way I can add switches to steering wheel right-side position (curr. empty) so I can adjust volume, push phone button to voice dial, etc? Bill W San Jose

      The curb weight on a 1 ton crew cab long bed is around 7k lbs.  Now, I don't know where you went to school but 9k is not more than 2x 7k lbs. More than 2x 7k lbs would be 14k+.   With that said, obviously yes you're going to feel a 9k lb trailer when slowing down.  I already said, when accelerating.  When changing lanes?  No.  But if you look at the context of what was quoted, the original person said, "after a mile or two..." which means that would be after the accelerating portion and you're driving a generally steady pace.  Please do learn to read and comprehend.

      Like I've said before. Di and Carbon buildup is not that big of a concern. Engine had minimal buildup, and that engine was obviously not super well maintained. Do regular oil changes, and you're gtg as long as the rest of the truck lasts. Also, the High Pressure FP that people ****** about, but can't tell you why.  Now, I wish they'd trash the variable oil pump. No real world issues with them, but I'll gladly eat whatever miniscule MPG it's saving me in favor of more oil at all RPMs.    Curious to see his assessment of the 7.3 compared to the 6.6. I expect he'll praise the port inj, but from a structural standpoint, the 6.6 is as robust as any engine out there.    Not to take away from the 7.3. I feel it's equally as good as the 6.6.     As to heat on the rear cyls, I'd have to see numerous examples before I'd say it's an issue. Especially not knowing the history of that engine. For all is known, they could have blown a rad hose, and ran it hot, and the 2 rear cyls may be the first to get hot in a low coolant situation, but not be an issue aside from that.
