I was wondering the same thing! I think the GMC would look better. I also saw an article that said chevy will offer a manual trans on the WT model with the 2.5!

got bad news for all that were expecting the new 2015 chevy colorado crewcab 4x4 Z71 with the 3.6 engine to be fuel efficient, its no better than toyota or nissan's numbers, I called Chevy today and talked to a rep and was informed 16 mpg city and 21 mpg highway for the 2015 colorado 3.6 V6 Z71 crewcab 4 X 4 with shortbed and 18 mpg city and 25 mpg highway for 2015 colorado 4 cyl Z71 4 X 4 crewcab with shortbed , I dont know about you but I was hoping the 3.6 V6 was going to get at least 25 mpg highway in the 15 colorado 4 x 4 Crewcab Z71 with shortbed,I was planning on buying the new colorado but not now, the 15 4cyl colorado 4 X 4 Z71 only tows 3500 pounds and the 3.6 V6 15 colorado Z 71 4 X 4 tows 7000 pounds , I just got rid of a 2011 nissan frontier crewcab PRO-4X with 4.0 V6 with only 20,000 miles in november, I only used mobil 1 synthetic oil from day 1 and I hyper mile, never once got the advertised 15 mpg city and 19 mpg highway,I got 13 mpg city and 17 highway if i was lucky, grrrrrrr now I know why chevy has not released the gas mileage yet, what a disappointment the last gen 2012 colorado crewcab 4 X 4 got 25 mpg with a 4.3 V6 highway and chevy was boasting that the new 15 Colorado was going to exceed that haha yeah right !!!

I don't like calling out a new member but I don't believe you. A "rep" is not authorized to give that info out and since GM hasn't released it, you can bet anyone in the know is keeping their mouth shut. Those numbers are worse than the full sizes and if this were true, GM would've seen it in early testing and either modified things or pulled the plug.

Yeah, the rep isn't going to release that to the general public before the press release. Sorry, still don't buy it. The fact you keep parroting these numbers every time you post screams BS.

and to boot those numbers are almost exact with toyota and nissan for thier similar equiped trucks , what would make you think the 15 colorado 4x4 crewcab Z71 with 3.6 would do any better?

Posted

Because GM wouldn't sell a smaller, less powerful truck that got worse EPA numbers than it's full-size? And because the last generation got 18/21?

Hell your 16/21 is the same as my 2011 full-size. Either you're full of it or you were lied to, period.

and to boot those numbers are almost exact with toyota and nissan for thier similar equiped trucks , what would make you think the 15 colorado 4x4 crewcab Z71 with 3.6 would do any better?especially with 70 horsepower over toyota and 44 horsepower over nissan v 6's, I think chevy new that it would be competative in the gas mileage department and was banking on the new technology and interior would give them an advantage over toyota and nissan.and those numbers are only for the 4x4 models i didnt ask for the 2 wheel drive numbers because i'm not intrested in a 2 wheel drive truck,i'm sure the 2 wheel drive extended cab 2.5 4 cyl will get 30 mpg and i'm just dishing what i was told and giving no reason not to believe the person I spoke to.

Riiiight.

GM spent millions of dollars and years of engineering to re-enter a risky market with a model that uses more gas than the last one.

See why I don't believe you?

well maybe thats why chevy has been so secretive about the 15 colorado's gas mileage, toyota and nissan have already released thier 2015 trucks gas mileage months ago and the colorado is set to be out on lots in september, i like chevys and was going to buy the new 15 colorado Z71 crewcab 3.6 4 x4, and if the info i was givin today is correct i am going to pass, i just traded away my 2011 missan frontier PRO-4x crewcab 4.0 v6 in november with only 20,000 miles paid 39,000 when all was said and done, because it never got the advertised gas mileage of 15 city and 19 highway i was lucky to get 13 city and 17 highway and i hyper mile,I was hoping the new colorado Z71 crewcab 3.6 4x4 would get at least 25 highway but 18 and 25 were for the Z71 crewcab 2.5 4 cyl 4 x 4
