Ok so i bought the ogm1 to go in my truck and gave my stock radio to my dad. i have a 11 silverado LT and i have the usb and aux port in my factory radio. well my dad has a 13 2500 and doesnt have either so i just gave him my radio. he took it to the dealer to get it reporgramed to work in his, and they say it wont work because you have to switch the vin? I was a 100% possitive these were plug and play and all you had to do was have the dealship flash the radio for it to work in another vehicle. any help would be great

It is. Some dealers dont like to do it or are bad to the point that they dont know how

I went through this, they can be made to work, finding a dealer that knows how is the problem

Ditto. It's no different than if the dealer had to do a replacement under warranty. You flash the radio to match the VIN off of the truck. My dealer does it all the time

I think your dealer knew nothing, just go to some renowned mechanic who can do this job in more effcient way.

LOL do you even know how they unlock the radio in the GMT 900? LOL! Its not like previous models.

It's not a matter of programming the radio, since the radio has no ability to retain any data. You have to reprogram the body control module to recognize the new radio (essentially to transmit the new data code that the radio will recognize to turn on). It's really pretty simple – all they have to do is program the truck as though it came with the new radio from the factory.

Absolutely doable and easy. It may or may not need flashing depending on the build of the 2 trucks. Vin relearn can be done with Tech2 that does not have the latest software updates. If you like, pm me the vins of the 2 trucks and Ill tell you what options they have. Or, you can look up the RPO codes in the glove box. Look for UQA, UQF, UQ3 as long as neither is a Denali.

Ya, agreed that I don't know how to unlock the radio but it was also cleared that his dealer was newbee who knew nothing.
