On my Canyon I just tapped in right at the fuse box at the highbeam circuit fuse. Anywhere there is a highbeam wire you could tap.

I'm trying to remember exactly how I designed the circuit. Once I do I'll post it up.

You have to add a circuit using a relay. The easiest way is to buy a wiring harness kit on Ebay.

http://www.ebay.com/...f399fa5&vxp=mtr

On the relay, you have four wires, one that goes to the battery, one that will do the ground, one for your LED bar and one for the switch and the signal wire.

Personally, I never install switch, because must be drilled for the dashboard. Normally, I use existing channels, such as the original fuse for fog lights or the fuse for the highbeams with a fuse tap. Look at the map below the fuse box inside your hood to find one that will make your case.

The signal is used to tell when your circuit must pass power. So if you use your original fuse for foglights, it means that when your fog lights will be lit, your LED light bar too. You can also choose to turn your LED bar ON when you put your highbeams. If you want absolutely a switch, It's the same circuit.

For the GMC 2014, It's the # 49 for the fog lights and #58 for the highbeams.

Screw it! I couldn't let that deal pass.
Thanks for the link

I ordered one a couple weeks ago. It probably comes out of the same Chinese factory as the expensive ones and has a 2 year warranty. If there are quality issues, they should show up within the warranty period. It's on a slow boat from China so I don't expect to receive it for another few weeks.

I just ordered one as well... Why not for 60 bucks? Let us know how yours turns out. I'll be interested to find out

Anybody receive their $60 lightbar from Beijing yet?

No I haven't. I was told anywhere from 7-3 all the way to 8-1 I should have it

I was not able order one but a buddy of mine did and just text me this morning saying that the company isn't a registered seller anymore. I did notice when I click on the link it doesn't come up with a page that says the auction has expired.

Any of you that bought them have any insight on this? He was worried it was a scam but said he was going to give it another week before filing any claims.

It's a scam. I already have the Paypal dispute processing. Tell your buddy to open up a dispute before the deadline to do so.

I called ebay and was told I had to wait till the day after the quoted delivery date before they could help me. But ebay said I am covered by the money back guarantee if I don't receive it.

That blows for everyone that purchased it. Hopefully everyone is able to get it everything back

Start a Paypal claim. The shipping time will be after the period you have to file a claim with Ebay and paypal. That's the problem everyone is having. Don't listen to someone you talk on the phone to, they're ignorant.

Thanks for the heads up. It seemed pretty sketchy and I had planned on filing a PayPal claim on the last day, just in case.

It was worth a try. Too good to be true like a lot of things are. Good thing we should get our money back through Paypal.

Thought I would revive this thread? I have a 2014 Denali. Really seriously considering a rigid 40" behind the grill. Looking for suggestions, fit, and installation ideas? Can anyone give me some pointers? Thanks

Did you ever put the 40" behind your grille?

I started working on installing my Baja Designs SII LED lights. Each pod is 2160 lumens. I have two spots and two wide flat beam lights. Those along with the HID headlights should get the job done.

My plan is to wire (with a relay) the LED spots to the high beams. The wide beams will be wired (with a relay) to the fog lights. So I should be able to run the wide LED beams with low beam headlights, and now that I have the fogs with high beam mod, I can get wide LED beams with the high beams. And no wires thru the firewall and no switches to mount.

I was struggling with how to mount them and was about to call it a night and then I had a simple idea. To mock it up, I used 2 way carpet tape. This is the mock up. I'll finish the mounting tomorrow.

I finally got the Baja Designs SII LED lights mounted and hooked up tonight.

http://www.bajadesigns.com/

I made my own harnesses. That took a lot of time, but it made it fit better.

I didn't want to run wires thru the firewall and install switches in the dash. I also wanted the high beam switch to light up all the lights and shut the high powered lights off when dimming the high beams. So, this is how I wired it:

I tapped into the fog light fuse (fuse #49) for the power to run a relay for the wide beam set of SII lights. Since I have the "Fog Lights with High Beam" mod, I can power up the wide LED lights with the fogs and they all stay on with the high beams.

For the long range SII spot lights, I tapped into the high beam signal at the back of the headlight. I used a simple continuity light to figure out which wire powers the high beam solenoid. This runs a relay that powers the SII spot lights. So, when the high beams come on, the spots come on, and the way the fog light circuit works with the mod, the fogs and wide beam SII lights come on with the high beams regardless of whether you push the fog light button.

If you are running on low beams, then go to the high beams, all the SII lights come on, then when you go back to low beams, all the SII lights go out. Very cool control.

The bracket was a piece of 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 x 1/8 aluminum angle. The clamps were 1 x 1 x 1/8 angle aluminum.

This is with the high beam HIDs and all the LED lights for a total of about 15,000-16,000 lumens. I can't imagine the need for more lighting than this for my uses. I'm very pleased with the beam control of the Baja Designs SII lights. It's not just 'bright lights', it's actually very well controlled. I highly recommend them.

In the cold light of the morning after reassembly. I'll probably have to do something with the yellow looking fog lights now.

    • Common Sense Assembly   Your driveline is forgiving of the occasional mistake. It will even often forgive the random serious blunder. But it will not forgive a continuous bad habit.      What? Not everything needs to be a five thousand word essay.
    • We drove about 15 minute east today to visit a friend and saw a steep increase in price in the same county. About 50 cents a gallon steepper.
    • Sure about that? A degree wheel and a dial indicator would lower your degree of assurance in that statement. 😉    It why we have offset keys and dialable timing sprockets. Just say'n.... I've built a few and have never seen one "On the money".
    • I will admit I haven't experimented much with pressure drops beyond the numbers I put in and part of that is that the numbers I used are fairly low and then found out it would trigger regardless at that 35 psi. Having said that I had tried before had changed the placard pressures and being that I have a 1 ton set to 80 on the placard for the rear I believe it triggered close to 60, the front I don't recall now for sure but thought maybe it could get close to 45 from that factory 60 placard pressure. So I never did figure out if it was a number of psi from placard pressure to the alarm or a percentage of the total placard number as some figured it was like a 25% drop from placard pressure would trigger it. So as to try and answer your question, I believe I set the placard pressure on the front to 47 or so and while I run the front tires at 40, they have dipped below that some if its colder and I haven't put "winter air" in yet and never once have had the front alarm go off. I would say that the answer your looking for is no, that if you set your placard pressure to 45, you have a certain amount of room to drop below that pressure before the alarm will go off.    The pressures you decide to run in your truck, that ends up being what makes sense to you based on what your carrying in your truck or if towing, then have to bump them back up to something that will carry the load in the rear and the fronts typically left at the same pressure. It all comes down to that chart I put the link to and using an accurate roadside scale to be your guide, both unloaded and then loaded to know your minimum safe pressures.    I just wish GM would allow a person to change the readings for the tire pressures to the English system of pounds as I have to look at that goofy metric reading that will never ever jive in my head and will go over and change it just to figure out what they are if need be and then change it back.
    • That part I understand, that the dealer can do it. But I'm not understanding why updates that were available to the truck since it left the factory, or the dealership originally, would not still be available to it without dealer intervention.   I'm thinking along the lines of recalls. They stay available until they are completed, regardless of whether they are in warranty or not, or in the hands of the original owner or not. Why not updates as well, especially since some of those can be safety related also?
