LED Front Light Bars & Pods

Here is a bracket I made out of 1/8th plate. I used u bolts to mount it so that I would have to drill into that cross member. I designed it in a way that you can leave everything loose and adjust it to fit perfectly where you need it to go. I could CAD up a template if anyone is interested.

 

I made this using a hack sa and a hand drill. If you had some better power tools you could definitely clean it up.

I haven't seen anybody using but it looks cool. It looks like a simple installs as well. Which lights would you get?

It says it mounts 4 9 inch bars. I'd like to know the actual measurements on the mounting locations. It would be nice to fit a 40 on there

This guy used a cradle mount. Looks like something I could easily fab up!

Not 100% sure what you are asking but the light bar is mounted into the cradle like the one below:

That Cradle is mounted to the N-Fab Mount that was mentioned a few posts up. It looks as if its mounted to the 2 outer mounts. The N-Fab mount looks to be bolted to where the tow hooks are. I'm guessing its sandwiched in there or just on the side.

Where are you guys running the wires back through the firewall? Is there a certain spot to run your switch through into the cab? thanks for the help

you can go through a few different places. The ones I use are the boots used for the door harnesses (the big black boot that you find on the forward end of the door jam) ; also the rubber gasket under the driver side footwell carpet, you can make a slice into the rubber with a boxcutter or other knife and slide the wire through, it'll seal itself; I have also drilled a hole into a plastic cap under the passenger side footwell carpet to run wires into the cab there. All are great locations. Personally I use the 2 spots under the carpet more because you'll never see the wires unless you get under the truck.

Well I finally got all the parts to wire my new switch from Ottawa. I got all wired up!

 

 

Realized I got the wrong switch on which one is supped to be on when the bar is off and when the bar is on. I was supposed to get the upper half as the independent

I had to make a jumper wire to power up the bottom half. Hopefully I can get it mounted up this week. I'm still trying to figure out how I want to mount it since I don't want to drill into my radiator support. I saw a guy on this fourm that used c clamps and I think I'm going that route

Well I was going try to put my switch to the left of the steering wheel when I came to a problem.

 

There a metal frame where I want to mount it. Then I seen another problem!!

 

So if I wanted to drill in the panel the only spot where I won't have interference is right below the steering column. I don't know if I want it there but I am running out of options. What do you guys think? Right below the steering column or some where else?

I scanned just about every thread and forum and anything else I could find when doing research for my install, but I can't say I've ever seen someone install 2x dual row light bars behind the grill. Not saying it can't be done, but I personally haven't seen it. I did see on another forum of a NNBS silverado with 2x single row light bars behind the grill. Might be able to find a pic if your interested, but that probably doesn't help.

Well 2 didn't fit without removing material. So just went with the 1.

 

Anyone want to buy a LED BAR [emoji16]
