Best fuel economy numbers and how you got 'em

I am getting a solid 15.3 on my 2013 GMC extended cab 5.3 4X4. It does have a fiberglass cap, but it does not extend above the cab. Its actually the only negative thing I have to say about the truck in the last 30,000 miles. That is with 70% highway/interstate, 20% rural country roads and 10% City or stop and go type traffic.

It does not change with cargo or without, with cruise or without, GM's window sticker estimates of 15 City and 21 are just not anywhere near real world. A coworker and my brother have the same exact truck and they report the same mileage, no way to get over 16 mpg.

I took a trip to watertown NY a few months ago (300 miles round trip) and had the cruise set for 73 (its a 65 zone) and manually calculated after a full fillup and did acheve 15.8 on that tank. Truck was empty, only myself and 36 lbs in tires.

Flattop

I avg 17.5 before my lift and up to 20mpg on a roadtrip
