Flexible Gas Pedal Mounting Bracket Question...

Can anyone go out and check their truck to confirm that their gas pedal is flexing when it is being pushed. I noticed that my pedal sensitivity is less than stellar especially when trying to hold a constant speed.

I looked at the gas pedal assembly that is attached to a sheet metal mount, then mounted to the firewall. Pushing the pedal by hand, I have about 3/4"-1" of flex where the mount actually flexes in toward the firewall on the the passenger side. Once the mount bottoms out on the firewall on the passenger side, the pedal will then start to work like it should, rotating within its assembly and opening the throttle body (if it had an actual cable). It doesnt appear that any of the screws are loose, however I can only see one screw on the driver side that holds the mount and pedal to the firewall. I checked the wife's acadia which has no flex at all in the pedal / mount.

Did you ever get a fix for this? Mine does the exact same thing and when the pedal mount is not touching the firewall it almost feels as if the pedal moves with every bump when you have your foot lightly on pedal maintaining a low speed. My local dealer is less than stellar so i'm trying to find time to take it out of town.

I just checked mine and was shocked to see how much flex the mount has before the pedal actually starts to move. No wonder it seems like I have to floor it from a stop.

I have the adjustable pedals and there is definitely some slack. I told dealer to check during first oil change. They said it was normal operation. Wish it was more solid.
