2014 LTZ Mirror Cap Change

I've went back and forth on this with different sources and have came to the conclusion that my 2014 LTZ will be delivered with chrome mirror caps and door handles. I ordered some new take-off ones from eBay in Victory Red just in case I'm right. I think I've got the door handle installation down but am not sure about the mirror caps. Can anyone tell me the proper procedure to change them so I won't screw up the paint on the red ones or mar the chrome ones? I figure I can sell the chrome pieces so I want to be careful with those as well. I did find a video that showed how to change the mirror caps on 2007-2013 but not sure if it will be the same.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

Instructions from the GM chrome accessories mirror cap install sheet:

 

 

-Firmly grasp mirror housing cover (1) and lift upwards then outwards from the mirror to release the retainers.

 

-Align the new chrome mirror housing cover (1) with the base of the outside mirror housing assembly, push forward until the housing cover is fully seated into the outside rearview mirror base retaining tabs.

 

Note: Inspect the outside rearview mirror for proper operation.

Thanks for the good information!! I never thought of looking for an aftermarket instruction sheet. Now all I need is new truck to pot them on.

I guess using a flat head screw driver was a little over kill. I tried pulling but it wouldn't budge. Had to break it free with the screw driver first.
