Seat bulletin

Great news! If someone hasn't already broken it...I was just at dealership to drop truck off for third time on seat movement and the advisor said a bulletin was out for the seat. Maybe a week it's been out. Said gm is working on a shim or something to fix it but the part isn't available yet. I was ecstatic to get the news

There was a bulletin issued in August for loose cushion fix. Do you know if that is the bulletin they are now referring to?

I dropped my truck off a month ago to get the seat fixed. They said they were going to replace the seat frame. However, they had it all day and never touched it so I took it home because I needed it that night. Well then I took it back a week ago and I was told they had received the bulletin on how to fix the issue so I was relieved. $ days later it started to shift again and is just as bad now as when I took it in. I told them I would bring it back when they got a real fix for the seat issue! I guess the rubber and hose clamp is the way to go... I hate the fact I'm having to do it myself, but it's a pain in the *** to get my truck to the dealer in the mornings only to have them say they need it another day! You would think they would put you above the other issues seeing it is a returning problem!

Yeah I can confirm that this is supposed to be the fix, 1.4hrs of labor to get it done: PI1183 dated Feb 27, 2014.

Requires a lubrication of the front seat pan pivot points, addition of 2 pin type trim fasteners to the front seat cover, additional seat cover clips, an the installation of shim clips between power seat vertical adjuster actuator and the seat frame. It is an excessive clearance problem on the power seat to the seat frame.

I hope this works. I can even live with the other problems with this truck but the seat issue ruins the driving experience. Sometimes a guy just wants to leave his cell phone at home and cruise a little. :driving:
