Daily Driver Tires

What is this "snow" y'all speak of? Here in Arkansas, if it snows we just stay home.

Yes, see photos. I think my STT's perform pretty well in all conditions, I have been happy with them thus far.

The best tire I have seen to combine an A/T with a M/T is the Goodyear Duratracs. They have incredible handling manners in just about every type of weather. They can also accept studs if you think you will be getting into some serious ice conditions. This tire also has the snowflake on the sidewall, so it's rated for winter weather, yet handles great in wet and dry conditions.

I am not sure to be honest.

 

There are a lot of characteristics that determine tire life. Are you chewing up tires with gravel roads, running them at a low PSI, always steering hard and accelerating hard, have heavy loads, not rotating tires. These are just a few variables that determine how long your tires will last.

 

This isn't my own experience, but the longest I have ever heard about Duratrac's as far as life goes was 70,000 KM. There could be people who get more out of them, but I haven't ever come across their posts. The only way Goodyear could earn the snowflake rating for the Duratrac was to soften up the compound for better winter handling. This of course leads to slightly faster wear, especially in hot summer conditions.

I am also trying to get the best of all worlds. I am pretty sure I will be ordering Cooper ST Maxx. I've read that they are quiet on the the highways, siping for snow conditions, and have a nice aggressive look to them, IMO. I never before considered the Coopers as a legit contender in my search for a good all round, nice looking, affordable tire. Sure hope I will be making the right decision.

That's my next tire. I like the ATPs a lot, but it can't hurt to get something more aggressive.

Best price on Coopers I found was treaddepot.com, I got my 4 STT's for under a grand shipped to my door.

Im a big cooper fan and the next set Im getting is the ST Maxx. Great looking tire and from my buddy that owns a tire shop says they perform great is all weather

I guess affordable isn't the correct term. Less expensive than others I looked at. Toyo Open Country and Duratracs where both well over $500/tire. ST Maxx were $400/tire.

 

I officially ordered them today, along with some new wheels!!! Wheels should arrive in two weeks.

Little late to the post but my BFG All Terrains lasted me 60K miles and did well in the snow.

I'm getting 35x12.5 r20's. It is going to be very hard to wait a few weeks to get the wheels in.
