found a dura

i found an 02 silverado ls, dura/allison, crew cab, short bed with 20k. they are asking $37,000. i went to KBB and it prices about 38,500. i think both prices are too high. i was considering seeing if they'll go down to $35,000. i was planning on keeping my current truck for a couple more years but i think if the right deal comes along i may have to bite. the issue i have are the '04 rumors. part if me and friends say i should wait to see what the '04's look like and what the engine performance is. any advice

There may be some gains in the motor compartment for '04, but I think the '02 has more power than you would ever need when towing your 26 foot travel trailer.  You can also "juice" the '02 for a large gain in the HP/Torque numbers.

That price seems a little steep to me.  I would think you should be able to purchase a new one with the rebates and a sharp pencil for about the same price if not just a little more or less...

I have to agree that is a little high. My parents just bought a 2003 Chevy 2500HD CC D/A 2wd. The truck had a sticker of 41,600 and they got that  down to 33,900. A new 4x4 would be a little bit more than that. $37,000 would get you a brand new 4x4 where we buy trucks from.

Happy hunting.
