Intellilink Text Message Alert

Has anyone been able to have phone text messages display on the Sierra touch screen when they arrive? The owners manual shows it should be possible.???

I would love that feature. I hate how when my phone is paired to the my truck no sound comes from phone text messages email ect..

I read that in the manual as well but do not see any options on intellilink for it.

I think this intelli-stink system sucks. I wish i could put in the system for the radio and h/vac from the gmt 900 into my 2014

GM clearly didn't invest a whole lot of bucks in their infotainment system(s). It's too bad because these features will become more and more important as the younger generation begins to more commonly afford new vehicles.

We can debate about how good or bad the system is but what makes this particular issue unique, is that the user manual says that feature exists (if equipped). I have the Bose with NAV which I believe is the highest end radio. What 2014 sierra option would make it 'equipped'?

I dont see that feature listed in the manual at all. Where are you looking?

It's sad that you can get a better system in the Spark and Sonic than a 50k truck..... Anyone seen those cheap car systems? there was one in the showroom when I was getting my last oil change... $50 nav app, easy to use, it was perfect.

Customer Support says it's hit or miss depending on the phone. Mine isn't working.

 

You must go to Bluetooth settings, select the vehicle link and there is an option to receive notifications. I do not have this option on the Iphone 5.

 

Also, have Verizon in case it's caused by provider?

Pretty sure iPhones don't support text message display.

I have a friend that has the iphone 4s and it supports it in the F150 system. Totally different I know....

I have the Blackberry z10 (I know....insert joke here) and texts have not been coming through either. I'll check for this setting under bluetooth.

Strange. I've had the 5 and now 5S and I've tried it on a few different Ford systems (Edge, Fusion) and it wouldn't work. Nor would it with the Acadia I had while in CA a couple months ago.

Could it be provider related? He's using Sprint, not sure which ios update.
