So my 09 2500HD has factory xm but does not work. Receiving the preview channel but that's it. Called xm asked about replacing factory xm tuner with v200. I can't answer that sir we just send the signal.....OK. I know that the aftermarket antenna will not work on the factory xm tuner tries that. But will the v200 work in place of the factory tuner and yes I am going to just install a 7in but not sure what I want just yet.

Since you're getting the preview channel, we know the factory XM tuner works and there is no need to replace either the XM tuner or the antenna - you just need to activate your subscription.

The SXV200 will not work with the factory radio, and the factory XM tuner can only be retained with a factory style aftermarket head unit like the Advent OGM1 or with a standard double-DIN and an adaptor like a PAC OS4 (this will provide audio output from the XM tuner, but won't give you full control or display like the OGM1).

Subscription is good and signal has tried to be reestablished with xm numerous times.

If the subscription is good, are you able to tune to channel 1 & channel 0, or are you stuck on channel 1?

maybe you need to send a refresh signal to your xm unit. google 'xm refresh' and one of the result will take you to xm's page that will send the refresh signal. you will need to know your radio id. when you do it, you will need to have the truck in an open area so that it gets the signal from the satellite, and have your radio on and tuned to channel 1.

If you receive preview channel, have sent refresh signal (and left on for at least 20 mins) and still just get preview channel then the tuner is prob shot. You can easily use the oem antenna with aftermarket tuner just need adaptor or just splice in. You cannot use the xsv200 directly with your oem radio, but you could either get a used tuner off ebay or try the pac iPod-sirius kit. While not truly xm, you can add both iPod and sirius to your oem head.
