Is it possible to turn on/off bed lights from outside the vehicle?

I searched the manual without any luck. It would be nice to be able to turn off the bed light from the outside of the truck. Is this possible?

I like the in-bed lights when I'm retrieving things from under my tonneau. A few times I've been unloading my truck and found myself having to balance 2 armfulls of stuff in order to open my driver's door and press the cargo light button.. then lock my truck. It would have been nice (for instance) to hit the lock button twice to turn off the cargo light. If anybody finds anything aftermarket for this, I'm all ears!

If you were to purchase an aftermarket alarm you could have the AUX button programmed for this. Long way to go just for that but its possible.

Also could wire the light into the dome light possibly so every time you unlock those lights would come on as well.

Someone here was going to attempt wiring it so it would come on with either a toggle or some other type of switch, do a search on bed lighting.

If the engine is turned off, the cargo light will automatically turn off after being on for about 10 minutes. How do I know? I was working on the back of my truck and the light suddenly shut off. I had to go back to the inside of the cab and turn it back on.

That's correct I've done it a couple of times and it went out after 10 minutes.

On my '06 the interior lights turn off after 10 minutes too if you manually turn/leave them on. Didn't know about the cargo light as it's essentially useless when you have a topper on the back.

Cargo light and the bed lights will turn off. The bed light is great for those that have a tonneau cover because it allows you to easily see what is under the cover when you open the tail gate.
