New guy here. Bought a new 2014 crew cab short box 4x4 5.3 yesterday. It has 400 miles on it and even my wife likes it. On our way home from the dealer we noticed the led on the bottom of the 7 on the auto temp knob not working. Not a big deal, I imagine it will get fixed.

Went to get a pizza tonight and when my wife opened the door from the outside I heard something hit the ground. It was the back part of the door handle.

I hope this is not a sign of things to come. I really enjoy driving the truck. We put 102 miles on it after we bought it before we got home. MPG was showing 18.6 in a mix of 2 lane country roads and a little 4 lane.

( I don't want to hear any crap about buying a 1st year truck that I see in other threads. )

Assuming you purchased a GM product......

I'm on my 4th drivers side door handle.

These door handles are designed for maximum force not to exceed 20 Newtons to be applied at direction normal to the perpendicular axis, not to exceed a 4 degree angle from horiziontal in either direction. Didn't you read the fine print in your owner's manual?

Seriously though, these door handles are flimsy. However, I have not had any problems with my truck with any of the four door handles to date.
