2011 Oil Leak

Recommended Posts

Dropping it off at the dealer tomorrow but I figured I would throw a picture up here to see what you guys think. Noticed a few drops in the driveway so I got underneath today. (its been too cold around here to do anything)

Picture is from underneath. The bottom of the Compressor is getting a drip of what looks like Trans fluid. Its redish pink in color.

When I wipe it off and go for a drive that's where it is pooling up (on bottom of A/C compressor). Those two trans lines in the pic get wet but its the splash. I went from above and cant seem to see where it would be coming from.

At first I thought it was the trans lines going to the cooler, but they aren't really above there.

You have a crack in the trany line. If you look at the small drip on the line you can see a tiny crack. It does look like trany fluid. i'm not sure what pressure the cooling lines have but obviously enough to spray onto the compressor.

If that's the case can I fix that without replacing the entire part ?

I looked at that when I was underneath. And it seems like it's starting from the ac compressor area. Even when it drips, it drips from the ac compressor onto the steering linkage and onto the ground.

I'll see what gm says

Do it right, replace the entire line with fittings if possible.

And what is that incredibly rusted part from the first pic? :0

I have no idea but the drips are red. What colour is your rad fluid?, mine is orange and it isn't oily either.

I added a crop of your pic. Looks like a crack to me. It could just be a pin leak and very hard to see spraying. My 01 has 100,000 miles on it and my water pump is still good. I would yank it from the dealer and take it to a shop you trust and get the line replaced.

I went back to the dealer and that's not where the leak is originating from. It's from above.

My coolant is red from the factory If it's not fixed I'll bring it back. It's all warentee.

In your first pic it looks to be coolant. Not dark enough to be trans fluid, imo. Taste it next time, you'll know quickly. :)
