Wanted: CAI - 2014

I know I've seen a couple of guys that have purchased CAIs and either didn't like them or went a different route. Now, I'm just throwing it out there that if anyone is wanted to offload their new, or next to new intake, I'd be interested. A couple of the local shops here either can't get them or they're backordered. And some of the online places don't ship to Canada.

I might be interested in selling my barely used AFE stage 2si (~100 miles). Sound with plug installed (it has an additional opening the front of the box that can be plugged with included rubber gromet or removed) was pretty good. Getting older, still too loud for me.

The box is also a WHOLE lot lighter and vibrated under load...added some foam between it and the coolant box and fixed it. Very nice, BIG filter.....I was just going to hold onto until I got a tune. But if you want it I'll sell it for 340.00 Shipped. The only issue (which is a non issue IMO...is that I had to slit the included vacuum hoses to get them off...a band clamp fixes it and would make install 10x's easier...fockers were hard to get on and impossible to remove).

This is it exactly.

I paid 364.00 Shipped (I think). I had like 40.00 in paypal that I didn't even know about... so to me it tech like 324.00 shipped). I recently shipped a AFE stage 2 for the ecoboost and it was $30.00 just in shipping. This would be about the same....box is actually bigger.

How loud is it? I would have thought that with the completely enclosed box, it would have been the lest loud of some of the after market CAI.

You said in one of your posts that you think you lost power? Was that the case?

Lowend power....I think so. Mid-range I think I gained some. I think to take advantage of the intake's design (it's huge) you really need a tune. The diameter of the piping is larger prior to the MAF which tapers as it nears it.....in essence, this would/should accelerate the air flow.

Which would mean that with a custom tune, it should make more power...AFE has dyno's that looked pretty good. It held v4 longer...but also seemed to take more input before it would go into 4 cyclinder mode, too.

I would say that the gains are all midrange. I used it to tow and was really impressed with the "seat of the pants" feel....normal driving I didn't notice much.
