2014 Sierra 5.3 vs. Ecoboost

When empty, the Eco boost doesn't get close to the mileage they clam it will do, I commute 3/4 hr every day and the Chevy does really well , is way better on the hi way in the winter, had to put snow tires on the Ford and it still did really bad, over all I find the Chevy way better for commuting, think the Ford had more get up and go for passing, Chevy seems to have more get up and go from a stop, think Ford takes awhile for the turbos to start making power?

Anyone saying their 5.3 is faster than either the 2.7 or 3.5 ecoboost is dreaming. I have the 3.5 EB in my work van (Ford Transit) and it pulls that big ass van faster than my new GMC 5.3 all day long.

Knowing that, I still chose the GMC over the Ford because the 5.3 will prove to be more reliable I guarantee it. My '05 F-150 5.4 was the biggest POS I've ever owned. I've already heard about coil packs going bad on the 3.5's. Ford will never learn their lesson.

Also, you can't beat the growl of a V8. I can't wait to get an exhaust on my truck. If I had gotten the Ford I would be compromising on what makes me happy just for quicker 0-60 which is dumb on a truck.

That V8 growl is not so cool when it goes into V4 mode! You will have to turn off V4 mode to enjoy that sound all the time.

It may help some but you will still get the "helicopter" sound at certain throttle points.

Because GM didn't design the truck to have an after market exhaust installed (unless it is the GM Borla cat back).
