Bed Step for 2015 Silverado 2500HD

My 2015 Silverado HD needs a side step to access the front of the bed since it is so tall. The side rails end about 2 feet short to take care of this. I guess changing to aftermarket side rails is one solution, but I recently saw this oem Bed Step and wonder if anyone has used this one? (I was able to confirm, it will fit a 2015.)

It is available at the GM Parts Outlet for about $285. each side, kinda expensive!

That is the bed step the dealer put on mine! Works great along with the G4 folding tonneau cover.

Accessory catalog says it can not be used with the factory side steps. So I ordered a set of n-fabs. Came in yesterday. hope to install them this weekend.

I too would love to hear some input on this. I just bought a 2015 Chev 2500HD crew cab with the 6" side steps. I would love a retractable step to access the front of the bed from alongside the truck. If anyone is familiar with the GM accessory I'd like to know how it compares to the one Ford offers. A friend of mine has an F150 with their step on each side at the front of the bed and it works really nice. I push of a button with your foot opens the step with ease. I agree the GM step sounds steep but if it works like the Ford it might be worth it. Is this compatable with my side steps? Does it collapse out of the way when not in use? If so, how does it open/close?

I noticed that it says "not for use with 4" assist steps". I have the 6" bars... Does that statement hold true with the larger of the two as well?

I can't say for sure, but I imagine they use the same mounting points. Best bet would be to check with a dealer.

The little side bed step on the front of the driver's side of bed came standard on my 2015 High Country along with the factory standard fixed step crew cab rails. It's great for reaching over into my tool box. I wish they put it on both sides but it only came on the driver's side.

Awesome. It's pretty subtle in the closed position too. I'm guessing this is a bolt on accessory? Something I could do rather easily? Thanks guys for the input and photo.

My 2015 SLT 3500HD also has the steps , one on each side, with the 6" side step bars. It was an option I ordered at time of ordering my truck. It was dealer installed. Yes, you can do it, but it does take some measuring and drilling some mounting bolt holes using an angle drill motor.
