It only took one month

One month.

For a rock to hit my windshield and chip it. Right below the driver's line of sight. Words can't express how angry I am about this. Worst part is, it happened when I let my wife borrow my truck for the day. I know these are pretty much random and there's not much you can do about it, or even see when a rock is coming. But my wife is constantly getting chips and cracks in her windshield which leads me to believe she is following too close to large trucks or just plain not paying attention. I can get the chip filled, but it's going to be there, right in my sight every time I drive the truck now.

Mine lasted 2 days, on the way home from dealer after going back to sign a paper, got a rock on the interstate and a starchip. Deductable paid for repair, still pretty damn depressing.

Certain thing in life you should never get attached to. One is golf balls around water & the other is the windshield on your truck. Just go buy any glass shop & $150 later, you will have a new windshield. If you just have to have OEM, go to your dealer & pay your glass deductible if you even have one. This is not a life changing event.

Don't know when the last time you bought a windshield was, but they are hardly $150 anymore. Try $400 to $500. Which coincidently is the deductible for insurance. So either way, I'm screwed.

Just replaced my windshield today thru insurance claim. Auto glass should not be under most policies' standard deductibles.

I had to pay the Safelite $100. The total bill was like $425...

I think it depends on where you take it. There's a shop here by me that is only about $150-$200 for a windshield, you just have to take the vehicle to them.

I understand the money thing but it's a windshield. Like tires, batteries, and brakes, you'll be changing them. I'd be more upset about a chip/dent on the body of the truck than the windshield.

But yes, your wife probably does follow trucks and other vehicles too closely. So does mine. And every other woman I know!

Yup... 2 days here. Same thing happened on my '13 truck AND my '14. Pisses me off.

Hey one month into my 2014 I put a 24" gash down the rear fender. $550 later it was fixed. You all can relax and feel better now about your windshields haha

Yeah, but you said "screw that" and just bought a new truck instead of replacing the windshield.
