Did GM send anyone else a trailer brake wiring harness in the mail?

Mine was in my glove box. Bought it 3+ weeks ago. Some owners may have bought at a time they did not provided?

i haven't received one, I called my dealer and asked about it but as usual the salesmen don't know anything. Can I contact GM for one?

just be patient...mine came like 15 days later then other people's did. should see it within the next 2-3 weeks

Bought my truck in february 2014. just now received mine in the mail. i have had nothing but problems with my aftermarket brake controller.. took it back to the facility that installed it and they installed a new one because it will flash and i will have to reset it almost each time i hook up.. is this because i didnt have this adapter? what exactly is the adapter for?

Don't know how your installer connected your aftermarket brake controller to the truck, but this adapter harness does just that - connects the brake controller to the truck wiring for trailer lights and brakes.

 

If this was not done correctly, it could be the cause of your issues.

Yes mine does the same thing. Flashes everytime I hook up and I have to reset output each time. Hopefully this harness will fix the problem. Will get mine fixed in a few days with harness and let u know if it fixes the issue

You know I had this in my glove box and never knew what it was. Glad I found this thread otherwise it would just sit there.

Fixed my issues. Aftermarket brake controller works perfect now

I bought my 2014 SLT without factory trailer brake controller a couple weeks ago, but I do not have this harness. Should GMC be sending one to me?

I bought my truck about 10 weeks ago and I still don't have a harness, my brother in law bought his about 2 weeks ago and his was in the glove box. I did find my cargo/bed lights under the back seat in a box. My dealer is 50 miles away so I just installed them myself.

Mine was stuffed in one of the pockets on the back of the front seats. Probably lucky I found it lol

 

I would either ask the dealership or PM the GM customer care account here and see if they can make sure one is being sent.
