How long will GM let you accumulate points on your card before cashing them in on a new vehicle? I only buy a new truck every 20 years and if I get a GM card the next truck should be FREE.

I have $0. I just collected $1800.

 

There are 2 types of accounts, old and new. The old accounts will let you get 500 per year, 3500 max. The new accounts has no limit on how much you get in a year, it limits how much you can get on a vehicle. Last time I looked (years ago) it was $1500 on a truck.

I cashed in on my 02 in Nov of 02 $2500 and then this past April I cashed in again $345 on the 02 Venture.  Now it is back up to $634. It looks like this time we will be cashing it in when it gets to $3500 or six years from now. By then the wife will need a new vehicle.  I was considering the new card but don't like it when you have to use what GM tells you at that time you might  be looking at a new vehicle. I much rather would be out looking knowing I have a certain amount to use on a purchase.
