3M or llumar tint?

Recommended Posts

I am trying to decide between two local guys here and each have one of these. I had the llumar and tahoe but was curious to see if 3M was better, they said it has lifetime warranty there. Both are $70 installed for either place but the 3M is basically die or computer cut perfect using no razor. I am guessing or hoping its cleaner that way.

Curious to any added comments as the older tint thread I saw wasnt recent unless I missed another, then sorry!

I have computer cut llumar and couldn't be happier. Llumars 5 percent on the untinted windows matches perfectly with25 percent on top of the stock tint. I would only get computer cut tint though. I didn't like the 3m I had because it had a barley noticeable reddish tint to it on my last truck

The other component it is to confirm if the tintis made from a metal based film, or just dyed film have issues over nano type films. The metal based can interfer with cell phone signals and the straight dyed only products don't hold up.

I installed llumar products on my truck. I didn't want to match the factor and have the same tinit level and heat rejection put on all the side and back windows. Darker back windows are harder to see into especially when you may have something stored in the back seat...Christmas gifts, etc...

Went with the llumar comfort tint, ran me $150 OTD for both side fronts and a 6" strip across top of the windshield. Didn't want to spend another $50 for something I thought was marketing with the non radio affecting for gps/xm/radar/cell. Nothing was bad after install. Went with 20 to match the back, state is 32. Taking the chance, oh well.

I have LLumar 3 percent on my back windows and 30 percent on my fronts which read 27% with a tint meter. Texas law is 25%. I love LLumar had it on my last 3 trucks.

I went with LLumar ceramic all around. I got a second layer of 35% in the backseat/back windows. I went with 50% up front, and the Air 80 on entire windshield. Front is barely noticeable, I shouldn't have any legal problems along the way. Only complaint is a slight blue tint on front side windows when the sun hits it. It's not visible from outside or in the shade. It's supposed to not interfere with cell and other electronic signals, whatever. My main reason for picking it was heat and light blocking. Can't say about 3M tint.
