Here's something for you...speaker interference?

I had this happen a few days after I bought truck, and hadn't happened again until yesterday. A loud interference sound comes over the speaker system, almost like you're picking up garbled radio signal. Both times it happened I didn't have the radio on, it just came over the speaker system. Naturally the first thing you do is reach for the radio knob to turn down the volume but it doesn't have an effect. It only lasts probably 20 seconds but seems longer because it surprised me both times, and I couldn't make it stop. Both times it went away on it's own. The first time it happened I though maybe I somehow picked up a police transmission or something? Couldn't make out any voices, just loud bleeping and static...almost like an emergency broadcast on a TV. Again, not complaining since it's only happened twice in 5 months, and there's no way of reproduding it but I'd like to know what the heck it is if anyone knows? Or if anyone knows. I think my Onstar plan has expired so I dount it's them but who knows.

cell phone? my home speakers would always pick up interference just before receiving a text or a call. depended a lot on the phone placement though, and varied from one phone to another.
