Sorry for not reading all 14 pages, but has this condition been observed in both short and long wheelbase SUVs? Chevy's, GMC's, Cadillac's? 5.3L-6 Speeds, 6.2L-6 Speeds, 6.2L-8 Speeds? 3.08's, 3.42's, 3.23's Axle ratio?

And what are the driving conditions when it occurs? AFM/V4 Active? Engine Speed? Vehicle Speed? Light acceleration, constant speed, coasting, braking?

Thanks.

GM Customer Service – do you remember this comment back on post #90 page 6, “GM Corporate – your call. In the meantime, respectfully request you muffle your advisor on this thread unless you give them some authority to make decisions.”

People have spent thousands of hard earned dollars and are attempting to get closure on substandard manufacturing on their vehicle. It doesn't appear nothing changed from post 90, Corporate didn't give you any authority to make something happen. Don't mislead folks as though you can get something done.

Trying to keep it clean here, so unless you know a GM Corporate exec in the high rent district, respectfully request you go find another thread to assist.

Hey,

We apologize for any frustration and don't mean to bombard this thread with messages. However, our internal resources monitor this forum daily. As a result, if anyone is experiencing a concern and would like our assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to us via private message. We're always happy to look into things further and check for any pertinent developments.

Sincerely,

Eddie A.

I have been waiting by the sidelines for some time now just hoping that someone at GM would set aside their boiler plate "customer satisfaction" hand book and tell us what the issue is with these trucks. At bare minimum it would restore a bit of confidence that my $70k investment (potentially) in your product is appreciated and just maybe my little piece of your corporate gross income is enough to garner a straight answer out of you. Please do not forget that my tax dollars kept you afloat when times were tough and all you have for me when i am trying to get a straight answer is more corporate nonsense. You give me a real answer and i give you my check. Fair enough?

GM Customer Service (GMSC) – got it. You speak with the "company" tongue, but that's not going to get it. Representing GM, your comments are valued as long as you are bringing substance, especially on a thread like this. If you don’t bring substance, as a customer I don’t need anything between me and my 70K. When you have information from Corporate, log on to this thread and let everyone know. Otherwise, you lose loyalty and respect.

Folks want to know from Corporate, what is being done about the issue/s and how do they get their money back if there is no resolution. Since your “internal resources monitor this forum daily”, they need to log on and answer the mail.

InertiaFaze – c’mon man. If you have one of these vehicles and is experiencing the issue, you won’t do yourself any favors by not reading the previous 14 pages. Some of your questions are covered, but maybe only 4 folks (if they still frequent the thread) can answer all your questions.

@The Zip. Point Taken. Read the entire post. Joining the post late, just trying to get caught up.

Common theme, 35-50 MPH, AFM Active, no tie to wheel-base length, no tie to brand.

@Anon2015 makes some great suggestions in post #155 on page 11. In addition, how about moving the shift lever to M and tapping as necessary to M5? M5 will limit the gear to 5th gear, but it will also inhibit V4 ("AFM"). In doing so it will allow operation at different vehicle speed / engine speed points without V4 activation. Is the noise still present? Have any of the service folks suggested or tried this? I'm guessing they have, but I didn't recall seeing it in any previous posts. Just trying to help.

Well good luck with this issue. I am done dealing with it. I am not sure if read the earlier post i had but i bought and and sent it back because of the pressure problem. Then i ordered a new one that was assured to not have the problem. But wouldn't you know ten weeks later it is in and same problem. I have 6 gmc vehicles the oldest one is a 2012. Looks like some other company is going to get my 70k.

Luvgmc - I remember your earlier post; you were to able return your vehicle based on a 72hr window, I made the comment at the time that you were the only one that "luved gmc".

Appreciate the info, if your replacement vehicle was the 2015i mid yr model, then that's TERRIBLE news.

Did you have the 2015i?

He said "10 weeks later" implying he got it 10 weeks after ordering. If that is the case, I don't think it would be a 2015i. It seems those were not produced until the first week in October.

Does anybody have a 2015i yet?

I know mine was built the first week of October and is an "i" model. But I am still waiting on it.

Did you get the 2015i?! Please tell us it's not a 2015i...

The way to identify a 2015i for sure is on the list of options for the truck it will say:

2015 INTERIM PROCESSING CODE (Required on all interim models produced starting in October 2014.) (AVF)

Posted

Luvgmc - the "some other company is going to get your 70k" comment, do you still own the 2nd truck? You had the 1st buyback on this thread, who convinced and assured you the problem was solved and to buy the 2nd one? Was is Corporate, a dealer, mechanic, technician,….? You were pretty versed with the issue, how long did you have the new truck before you noticed the problem was still there?

Jasondenali15 is spot on, but it's unlikely you will see the info on the sticker. It's more likely to be in the dealer specs for the vehicle. If you get time, call and ask the dealer to look at their specs to see if the AVF code is listed under Options and Packages. If they confirm the AVF code, the vehicle is a 2015i (short for interim processing code) built in Oct '14 or later.

Bad news if the dealer confirms the code, 'cause based on your input, it would mean GM still doesn't have a lock on the the problem.
