Update on my Escalade...

Service Tech rode with me yesterday afternoon. Acknowledged everything I'm experiencing.

GM is aware of the problems, but doesn't have a fix. His explanation is that GM made the frames and bodies much stiffer, while at the same time stiffening the suspensions to court those who desire a sporty ride. But , somewhere in the design, all this added stiffness is allowing the bodies to flex and vibrate on the frames. He agreed that this isn't a sporty ride, it's just a busy ride and there's a BIG difference.

He understood my frustration and acknowledged that there are many of us who cannot drive the vehicles, not only due to the vibrations from the "sporty" ride, but that the booming causes prssure in our ears causing us to become physically sick.

While we didn't discuss any solutuions, I thought it strange that he verified that both the Service Manager and General Manager were aware that I had brought the vehicle in multiple times for this problem.

I haven't opened a case with GM, yet.

RJM, Thanks for the update. I have a suspicion it has something to do with the shocks/suspension... They sent ones directly to the proving grounds in an attempt to fix my 2015 Denali. I was sick too...and everyone else who drove in it. Get a claim number from Cadillac Customer service. Don't wait. That may get the ball rolling for a field service engineer to inspect your vehicle and start the process for a resolution. GM did the right thing and refunded me 100% (less taxes). For that, I remained loyal and just ordered a 2015i Yukon Denali. I am confident they have found the solution for their "new" mid-year model. Keep us posted.

After the last dealer visit I told them I would give them until end of October to determine a fix before I took further action. Well, October is almost over and I have not heard a peep.

I plan to push for a buy back but have a question for Jason. You stated they refunded you less taxes...did you lease or purchase? I purchased and 8% NYS sales tax on $80k+ vehicle is a pretty substantial amount.

RJM - what is your plan for next steps?

Matt,

They're trying a few things today, but am not expecting anything.

As much as I like this truck, and it isn't my first Escalade, I'll politely request that Ally cancel the lease.

Traded into my infinit today. Much happier and its a way nicer vehicle than anything gm produces. Should have just done this in the first place. Good luck to the rest of you on getting this solved or finding a out.

yukontruckman - you feeling lucky. With the record number of fullsize SUVs sold by GM just the past quarter alone, all of the trucks are not experiencing this issue. Mine is not experiencing the issue, although GM is not off the hook. This is a problem GM has not yet mitigated and at any time this can happen to any '15 fullsize SUV sold.

Those that are not experiencing the issue will tell you this new fullsize GM SUV platform is the best yet. Just using this thread as a reference, if I was in the market I would not buy. Take it to another level, I've owned GM fullsize SUVs for 15 yrs. If GM were to offer to take back '15 models whether they were having this problem or not, mine is gone.

Again, are you feeling lucky?

I chimed in earlier at the beginning of this thread as a shopper about to purchase a 2015 Yukon struggling with the cabin pressure and buffering. We gave up the search after all the confirmation from this forum and etc. in fact we have yet to test drive a GM 15 without the issues (there have been at least 50). We moved on to try Toyota Sequoia - they too are experiencing similar issues (re: dealership informed). Now we are about to settle for a clearanced out 2013 Yukon. Anyone care to share experiences with that year model?

I continue to work with the dealership on this issue with our 2015 Suburban. Anyone who has had a BUYBACK Please reply on what vehicle you had and where you took it back to. Also Im asking for information from anyone who still is in the process of fixing the vehicle (all vehicle info and dealership address). I do NOT need your personal information just the vehicle and dealership. I am going to create a data base so that all of us will make sure that we will have some documentation to assist you with a buyback if necessary. Send me a private message and once completed I will post the information on the forum. FYI GM has now made a 2015i that is supposed to have corrected the issue and added some more options. Figures.

Howdy all....recent purchase of a 2015 Tahoe LTZ has gone about as bad as expected. This thread is pretty amazing, and gives us hope that we may not be as stuck as we previously thought.

I'll keep it short, but we bought in late August, diagnosed the first problem on the 19th of September, waited for parts until the 1st of October, and just got our vehicle back today. That's 34 days in the shop, and 45 days if you count the waiting time.

Most of our issues are electronic and include a non functioning DVD system, the keyless start not recognizing the keyfob being in the vehicle, a drivers side mirror that looked like something from a fun house, a lift gate that would open halfway and stop, and the ever so popular rattling under the dash. After 34 days in the shop the rattle is still there, and the lift gate still stops. As my wife was leaving the house, the "Service" Light came on for a front camera......lovely.

If we could take the vehicle and hand over the keys and wash our hands of it we would do it TODAY. However the dealer wants to fix everything, which apparently they are unable to do. I would really appreciate any information on how to sell this thing back to GM.

Thanks in advance.

.

While it sometimes appears to be a wind buffeting sound, I believe it's actually vibrations in the powertrain bleeding through the stiff suspension into the cabin.

And I think we're all getting "Cruzed".

I think GM is very familiar with the problem but conveniently avoiding any recognition of it. They think they'll figure out a "fix" in the near future and are stalling for time.

jamac4567 & tb6440 - the folks you need to talk to don't have a need to cruise this forum anymore, so you may not get your answer. But if you can come in contact with fourknuckles, jasondenali15, or subedriver, they will be able to provide you some of the info you are looking for. Anyone else on this thread having this issue is pulling teeth just to get substandard service, let alone to the point of a buyback or trade.

txsweettea3 - driven over 50 vehicles with the same issue, pretty definitive. Thx for the input. A 2013 GM large SUV platfom is pretty solid. I would recommend changing the wheels to at most 20s (going for function versus looks), change the rear shocks (factories are inferior for a vehicle this size), and ensure you get an after market battery putting out the correct CCAs.
