I chimed in earlier at the beginning of this thread as a shopper about to purchase a 2015 Yukon struggling with the cabin pressure and buffering. We gave up the search after all the confirmation from this forum and etc. in fact we have yet to test drive a GM 15 without the issues (there have been at least 50). We moved on to try Toyota Sequoia - they too are experiencing similar issues (re: dealership informed). Now we are about to settle for a clearanced out 2013 Yukon. Anyone care to share experiences with that year model?

Well, I must say you are determined. I probably would have given up after I drove the 4th or 5th one in a row that made the same noise. Not quite sure how or why you made it to 50+.

@yukontruckman

FYI- was a lot of test drives, and over a 5 month period trying different ones (including Cheverolet). I was hoping the cabin pressure, buffeting noise, was due to perhaps base model, or tire brand, or something that might be different in each one. I was excited for these to come out with some features I needed, so yea maybe a lil determined to find one. Felt like it must just be me until Reading this forum, which brought me to my senses and the end of the search .

Love the determination! See if you can spot any of the Yukon 2015i's on a dealer lot...They were built after the first week of October or so, and can be identified with an 8 speed transmission. It may take some time for them to hit the dealer lots yet. I would test drive one of those models...

@jasondenali 15

We actually do business with a dealer that said they hadn't heard any of these issues, was going to check into it and just had a handful new stock delivered. They asked if I wanted to try them out, I declined. Are you saying there is a new batch improved?

Allegedly, yes. They were brought back to the Arlington plant for another quality inspection before shipping. Trucks that were built and ready to ship went back to the Arlington plant from Grand Prarie, TX. I learned this from some of the guys who had their orders delayed. There is some info on it somewhere in this thread: http://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=64433&page=81. There is some good info on the 2015i's on this site.

I would not waste your time driving any that were built before 10/6ish/14. Drive the 2015i model. Again, the easiest way to determine this is if it has an 8 speed. Happy hunting!

Couple things:

First: Only the Yukon Denali's have the 8 speed transmission. SLT or SLE Yukon's or any model Tahoe will still have the 6 speed regardless if it is a 2015i or not.

The way to identify a 2015i for sure is on the list of options for the truck it will say:

  • 2015 INTERIM PROCESSING CODE (Required on all interim models produced starting in October 2014.) (AVF)

Second: I don't think anyone can say 100% whether the 2015i's are free from this issue or not. I am hopeful the issue has been fixed, but until some people start driving them (who know what to listen for) we won't know for sure.

Oh, sorry for the bad intel. Did not know only the Denali's had the 8 speed. I did know about AVF and forgot to mention...good call.

Well, I sure hope they fixed it...I ordered another Denali last month and it looks like it will be built next week. That problem better be solved! My first one was terrible.

Does your dealer have any 2015i's in stock yet? Or will they even let you back on the lot? :D

We need someone like you to test drive a 2015i since you know exactly what to listen for.

My dealer doesn't have any of the "i's" yet...Yes, we get along well and they want me to drive a 2015i when one comes in. They helped do the right thing with my buy-back and I bought another one from them, so we're good.

I promise, I will give a full report as I know exactly what to look for in the new one. I will not accept delivery of the vehicle if the issue is present. I truly believe they know what's going on now...that's why they brought them back to Arlington before they shipped. Some guys already got their 2015i Denali and they said the issue was not there at the speeds most prevalent. That's why I ordered another one...

For what it's worth, with all of our 2015 Tahoe's issues, we purchased in late August and have not experienced the buffeting issue that many have described.

The mouse click under the dash is still around after a lot of service time, but the pressure issues aren't apparent.

I had the click under the dash and it turned out to be the steering angle sensor. Have not had it repaired as of yet since the whole steering column has to come out. Was told by the tech that some Silverados had the same problem.

Thanks, I will eagerly await your review. The future of the 2015i is in your hands Jason! :flag:

That's a lot a pressure, man! I am a former Army captain...l can handle it. Having said that, it may be a while before it arrives. Probably another month or so.
