Towing With 6" Lift With Factory Size Tires

Tomorrow I will be driving 16 hours round trip towing a uhaul vehicle trailer. I was debating on putting my stockers back on to get closer to the 23mpg I was getting on the way up there (trip there=no trailer or car), and help with trip back. Plus put mileage on my factory tires and not much more expensive MTs.

2WD 6" lift (3" spindle 3" strut spacer lending kit, 4" rear block).

Good or bad idea?

I think it's a good idea. Put the miles on the cheap factory tires, why not.

You probably won't look to cool though. Lol

just didnt know if the higher center of gravity + 2 or 3 inch slimmer tires would be an issue with stablity. every truck ive ever lifted i dont get it done until i have everything needed, and install it all at once, so ive never driven around with factory size tires on a lift while waiting for new wheels/tires ha.

and no worries, ive never looked cool in my life before!

Yup, could be a little top heavy, just don't take the corners too fast or too sharp, but you already know that since you have a 6" lift.

Edit: as for safety it's probably better to leave the MT's on there and just deal with the MPG and tread loss.

You don't exactly have a towing machine there, but I don't know how much the tires would make a difference. On the one hand, the smaller unsprung weight may make it more responsive, but the combo of the height and low hitch point relatively to the suspension probably negate all of this.

Is there a difference in tire diameter? If the MT's are taller or heavier, both of these will impact braking performance. The original setup will at least correct this.
