Possible tune

I have read topics and I guess tuning is going to void my warranty. I have also read then previous motors with the AFM technology haven't held up so well. I plan on keeping this truck for a while so any opinions on wether I would be better off keeping my warranty and not touching the ECM. Or do I go ahead and drop the AFM to keep the engine and v8 and less stress on it. Also plan on some performance parts in near future and getting rid of cats. The software they use is hp tuners just in case

You're over thinking this. AFM will not cause more stress. Your driving style will have more to do with it than AFM.Since you plan on putting performance mods on it, im gonna go out on a limb and guess you want to drive your truck hard.

My last truck had a tune that retained AFM and it has 150,000 miles on it and is fine. I drove with a mix of granny and hard, but never abusive driving.

AFM does what it's supposed to do.... Save gas.

Does the tune in fact void the warranty?

Only on the parts affected by the tune :happysad:

(which unfortunately are the expensive parts that you' like to have a warranty on)

AFM might do something tangible on the new trucks but I saw no change after disabling it on my 2011. Just something to boost numbers during testing.
