Check valve in fuel pump not working. Fuel line drains...

I've searched for this topic but didn't find anything about adding a check valve. My 03 Sierra has a bad check valve in the fuel pump and its allowing the fuel to drain back into the tank, fairly quickly. Has anyone added an inline check valve to solve the problem? I'm not pulling the pump again...

I've seen several different versions of valves, just wondering if anyone has experience with it.

Mine is bad too....no way I'm replacing the pump for it though since it really doesn't cause me any problems.

Yeah, not a huge deal but mine loses most, if not all, of the fuel in the lines after about an hour. In the morning I have to turn the key about four or five times before starting it and a couple times each time throughout the day. I'll see how an inline valve works and post back here..

Now if mine was acting like that I'd change the pump. My situation is strange....after a couple of hours it's hard to start but over night and it starts right up and after more than a few hours it starts right up.

I just changed the pump, that's why I don't want to do it again. 8-)

Yours sounds like an electronic problem to me, ignition module, etc. Like a pc board getting hot and then cooling down (cold solder joint), or something to that affect.

Naaa, I tested the pump thoroughly and the pressure drops like a rock when the key is turned to off.

What brand pump did you install?

I don't remember the brand but it was the "kit" that just included the pump. Aftermarket I'm sure and if I remember right it had decent reviews from other guys that used it. Doesn't matter at this point since I'm not going to change it again unless it fails
