First new truck ever I'm 26 and never thought i would own a truck this damn expensive. Traded in my 2012 mustang 5.0 and while i miss it i can now take my atvs out and i must say more of my female friends like the truck a lot more :) thats a plus .

So its a 14 1500 lt 4.3 2wd with line lock i didn't want a v8 the 4wd was like 6k more couldn't swing it plus the line lock should save me in winter. I mainly will be putting my dirt bikes and atvs in the bed nothing major . Anyways two questions can the v6 handle a 3 in lift and what size tires and rim combo? Im thinking 20s with 275 grapplers?

Trippy! We're about the same age and traded in the same vehicle to get trucks! I didnt dd the mustang, so it just sat around collecting dust while I drove my 96 k1500 z71... Getting a new truck was a good call!

Congrats on yours man it looks sick

Thanks :) I'm a little afraid to lift it and void my warranty :( wheels will be ordered shortly along with steps for the ladies :) ya the truck is just so much more comfortable and bad ass lol this v6 can spin the tires and will pull nicely for a truck maybe a little lag but i can deal with it. Just feels good never thought id own a brand new 40k plus truck :) woot woot

I know what you're sayin, man! Just like the mustang- remember that legally you dont "void" your warranty. Your warranty claim will be denied if it is determined AND PROVEN (by the dealership/company) that your modification caused the said failure. I tuned my mustang, lowered it, etc., and I never had an issue at the dealership.

Nice rig. I wouldn't worry about the V-6 power honestly. It makes more horsepower than the V-8 5.7 vortec by 40 horses and only makes 25 less lbs of torque. Put e85 in it and it makes 55ish more horses and actually 5/more lbs of torque. Its a beast of a V-6 actually

Congrats on the new truck! Looks great. One question about the line lock - Is this a factory option? I thought these were aftermarket.

ya i love it :) and my mustang was a 11 sec car and the girl still tells me how much more she likes the truck and wants to drive it lol anyways

3in lift rough country lift 20 in wheels and 275 tires will that fit?

Am thinking he means the G80 locking differential. Congrats to op on the new truck. For what it is worth, I have 4wd & never had to use it last winter even with the crappy 20" Goodyears.

Yeah - The window sticker on my new GMC lists "all-terrain" for those GoodYear 20s - what a joke. They look like summer treads in my opinion.

My Sierra has 4WD, locking diff, etc. but I don't know about those tires with our Ohio winters.

I live in Chicago and i will have these 18s and tires for this winter only unless there is a good terrain tire i could use year round? I'm new to the truck world all i know is i want 20s and at least 33 -34 in tire but no idea what i can use year round any advice?

I didn't know the V6 had the E85 bump in power. I sure wish the 6.2's had it. LOL

Yeah it does. Pretty big one at that. To be honest I can't tell the difference between my V-6 and my 08 GMT900 5.3 even without E85
