4l60e trans issue

Having issue with trans not shifting into 3 or drive thinking prolly a solenoid can anyone help

You're missing third and fourth gear? You need to look at what both gears have in common.

 

The solenoid is not common to both gears, so that's out.

 

The 3/4 clutch is shared by both gears and is a common failure in these transmissions. That's what I'd put my money on.

 

 

How many miles does the trans have on it?

244,100 is what is on the truck so that's what I'm going with... tell me more about the part your talking about

So I dig deeper and did some research and it seems that this is a problem that I won't be able to fix on my own... is it safe to say it needs a rebuild?

With 240,100 on a 60 yes. 3/4 clutch is very common

I ain't rebuilding it, instead I bought one from a junkyard for 400 with 88,000 miles. Problem solved lmao

The 4l60e lol. I don't know how but my 2000 suburban that has 200,000 miles on it is still on original fluid and still shifts strong. I have towed tons of stuff from boats to construction trailers to yanking people out of ditches too haha!

Mine was perfect, it pulled anything I put behind it, but I guess everything it just gave up

Yeah but don't worry, GM made sure that they didn't build more than one quality product when they built my 04 sierra HD hahahaha what a joke of a truck

when my blows up, thats going in it.... pretty reasonable price as well considering what you pay for a rebuild of the "we put torque management and abuse mode to save our under performing transmission" that we have. it's worse than the th-350/700r-4 ever was.
