Testing collision avoidance windshield display

I am the proud owner of a 2015 Suburban LT. 800 miles and I really like it.

I had the misfortune to have a rock thrown up by a passing vehicle last week (a Ford, of course). The next morning I had a 14" horizontal crack running from the right edge.

I didn't want to file insurance since I have a high deductible. I had Safelite come out and install the replacement. $670. They by phone and the tech in person assured me it was the correct windshield for the brake-light collision display in the windshield. The tech said there were some connections at the bottom center when installing it for this circuitry and that they were properly connected.

I'd like to see it work just to satisfy myself.

1. Is there any test mode I could put it into that would cause the brake light to appear in/on the windshield? I tried inducing it while driving but that was dangerous, so I quit.

2. Could the dealer use their computer equipment to test it while stationary?

I hate to take 3 - 4 hours and drive 50 miles round trip to ask the dealer if they can test it or not.

Thanks for any help.

The windshield does not have anything to do with that system, it is projected onto the windshield from the top of the dash. You are fine
