Hydro boost issue 2014 2500?

Anyone had hydro boost problems with their 2500 HD trucks? Mine has a pedal that the feel recently changed. Sometimes I have good assist, some times they have minimal assist. If you pump the pedal while the truck is off to get the pedal hard, then start the truck, sometimes the pedal comes back up as it should. Other times it stays right where it is and that's when it doesn't feel right for the rest of your drive. Stopping with two feet is no fun. I don't feel like pulling my big trailer wondering if I am gonna be able to stop easily.

The dealer had it yesterday and said they couldn't find a problem. I'm calling BS on that. If they were to jump in a new truck on the lot, they would feel an obvious difference. The problem started all of a sudden which makes me wonder about a seal internally that may be leaking by. It just kinda sucks on a 7 month old truck with 8000 miles on it.

I will say that when I picked up the truck, it was not acting up as bad. Almost to the point of the brakes feeling normal, almost. What is interesting is the guy at the service counter pulled the truck up and said the brakes did feel weird. The dealership also took it upon their self to change the oil to standard dexos blend after I told them not to touch it. I was a little ill that the truck didn't get the Mobil 1 I had been running in it. It is a little thing that probably doesn't matter much, but the principal behind them doing it after I told them NOT TO is what gets me. This particular dealer won't have another chance with me. I will go to the next dealer 10 miles up the road.

Hi Michael Wheeler,

I see how frustrating this situation has been for you and apologize for the experience. Have you already been to the second dealer? I'd be happy to contact them on your behalf. Just send a private message if I can be of any help. I'll be checking for updates.

Sincerely,

Eddie,

I took the truck to the next dealer located in Staunton Virginia. I showed them what I had been seeing and the shop foreman instantly diagnosed it as a bad accumulator on the hydro boost unit. They said it would be a couple days before they could get to it but it looks promising this time for getting fixed.

Hi Michael,

Thanks for keeping us posted! We're glad to hear that the second dealership was able to diagnose this concern for you. In the future, if we can offer our assistance, please let us know.

Well, dealership #2 has had the truck all last week. They say they are short on help and couldn't get to it. I took the truck back for the weekend as I needed it to tow with. I dropped it back off last night with them. Oh, and conveniently enough, they lost my keys and had to order a new set. Luckily after they did this, the old key I had wouldn't start the truck until it was reprogrammed. This is nice when you go to start your vehicle and it won't crank. At this rate, my Silverado will be an F250 by spring. I was already on the fence about buying a GM or Ford product, but all this is really driving me away from the brand I have always been loyal to.

Let me add to the last post, dealership #2 did diagnose the problem and ordered a new hydropower unit, so I can't totally slam them for this as they have shown some process.

Hydroboost, not hydropower.

Read my thread on my issues.

I posted a whole section on what mine is doing. Mine isn't right but I blame it on the power steering pump.(I think its weak)

UPDATE Fellas. After all the work done on my truck prior in the link I posted above, I think I have a 2nd bad power steering pump.

At idle, my truck seems to turn wheels left and right sitting still fine. But with Brakes ON, it will barely or WONT tuirn wheels all the way, like the pump is weak and I get A LOT of Power steering or Hydroboost Noise.

It sounds horrible. Is this a weak pump or is that just the hydroboost taking away power steering strength?
