2015 Sierra Denali / High Country interior questions

For you guys who may have seen either one of these models in person, can you tell me if GM has made any improvements over the previous model years? There are no 2015's to speak of on the lots where I live, so I can't just hop on over to the dealer to check them out.

I know that’s a really broad question. To be more specific, I’m curious to know if GM has made any significant improvements with the fit and finish aspect. My last GM was a 08 Sierra Denali, and I found the interior to be vastly inferior to the previous generation of SD’s (I owned a 05 SD). The 08 had plastic everywhere. I know the new models have a completely different gauge cluster and touch screen controls, but what about the trim, interior lighting, creature comforts, etc?

Last year I ended up buying a 2013 Ram 2500 with the Cummins and the Longhorn trim package (non-frilly stitching option). The truck’s interior is pretty nice and even somewhat luxurious for a pickup. Real leather seats - front and back, soft touch dash, real wood accents, LED lighting, and a gauge cluster / DIC that’s pretty slick. Problem I’m having with this truck, is the ride is stiffer than I like and the seats are like sitting on bricks. I just can’t get used to it, so it has to go. I’ve been waiting to see if GM will offer the 8 speed and 6.2. Now that it is known they well pair the 8 speed and 6.2, I figured I’d order one for delivery next spring. But if GM has carried on with its prolific application of plastic everywhere, I may just stick with Dodge and pick up a half ton. I’d much rather have the 6.2 than the 5.7 hemi, but the Dodge can be ordered with 3.92’s, 3.55’s, which does help a bit. Paired with the 8 speed and air ride, they are nice riding truck (not quite as nice as GM though). Ford has completely dropped the ball as far as I’m concerned by dumping their 6.2. They should have kept the 6.2 and added direct injection. I cannot stand that eco-boost, and I don’t care what the torque curve looks like on paper.

I am a "GM Guy", so I'm really hoping the 2015's have been improved upon.

Go sit in a 2014 model sierra denali, or Silverado High country and you'll see what a 2015 will be like. Its light years ahead of the previous gen.

I looked at both Ram and GMC before purchasing my Sierra SLT All terrain. The Ram I test drove was a sport so it had the padded dash and leather (not the longhorn leather though). It was nice but I find the fit and finish much nicer and refined in my GMC. I can only think a Denali would have much nicer leather than my AT

If you like techy bits, the Denali has a full LCD instrument gauge cluster thats like the Cadillac CUE system. High county has an awesome color pallet but gets the regular cluster with 4 inch color display. Both have the 8 inch color radio. Go take a look at some on the lot of each variety so you know what the 2015 will be like and hold out for the 8 speed.

I really like the Fit and Finish of my 14 High Country interior, much better than the 2013 Ford F150 I came out of……the only thing I think I'd like better is if they made better use of the space in the center console between the center box and the dash…..

Thank you for the responses.

I have to admit, I have not actually sat in a 2014. I just took a quick peek at an LTZ. There were no SD's or High Countries to look at, 2014 or 15.

So the consensus is that there is no interior change between the 14's and 15's??

Is the back of the seats all plastic like the previous gens? That's something that has always bothered me, and yes I know I'm being persnickety.
